Fashion Illustration and Life Drawing (pencil and charcoal on paper)
This is some of my personal fashion illustrations in my sketchbook (fine liner, coloured biro)
My deconstruct reconstruct project - first experience with a sewing machine focusing on pleats,
darts and pin tucks making maquette and samples. (felt, calico, silk, denim)
Fashion illustration personal work in sketchbook with design ideas for my deconstruct reconstruct project referencing the work of Claire Pettibone. (pencil crayon, fine liner)
Final garment from deconstruct reconstruct project, from dress to top- halter neck top with bustle. (polyester)
Illustration workshop. We drew garments on the model, focusing on the texture of the material and how it hangs. I wanted to change up the features on my model to suit the outfit she was wearing. (pencil, felt-tip pen, colour pen)
Intricate Folds and pleats mood worksheet (magazine cutouts, pencil crayon, fineliner, water colour)
Still life focusing on different textures and patterns. (pencil crayon, black fine liner, pencil, graphite)
Design worksheet from still life work. I was referencing Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2007 collection, focusing on the formal designs. (magazine cutouts, watercolour, pencil crayon)
Worksheet showing structure and design ideas with samples of possible materials (black lace, cotton, black satin, tissue paper).
Final garment made from scrap material and black lace.
Further development possibilities i.e. design ideas for the the back and development into a dress. (black fineliner and pencil)
Character design ideas referencing King Lear's Cordelia and her changing character throughout the play. (pencil and coloured pencil crayons)
Sketchbook work form my trip to the Helston Museum. Here we were able to look at their archives to take photos and draw. I chose to look at these victorian garments due to there beautiful embellishments and materials such as delicate lace and silk tassel trims. (black fine liner)
For my message project I had to show 'suffocation' in whatever way I wanted so I chose a corset, best known in history as a contraption to constrain a woman and her femininity. I made this out of garden wire wrapped with the red wire to form the letters.
3D head piece I made referencing the costume design work of Ngila Dickson with a Lord of the Rings Elven theme. (bandage, blue thin wire, garden wire)
Drawing of still life from different angles of the room with paper orientation changing.
Paper Fashion One Day Project - Ideas, development and outcome
Focus entered on folds and creating texture and volume with the paper.
Fashion Mood Board (pencil crayon and magazine cutouts)
Exploring how magazines can be used as a source of inspiration for a project.
Monoprinting Workshop
Design created with ink and cardboard strips.
Painting Workshop with Still Life- Little Blue and Orange Glass (acrylics)
Final Piece of Narrative Project (fine liner, watercolour, wire)
